Job Description:

As a Video Editor and Social Media Content Creator, you will be responsible for editing, revising, and enhancing our video content to ensure it meets our high standards of quality and engagement. Additionally, you will create various forms of social media content, including text captions, videos, and images, for platforms such as Twitter, TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube. You will ensure that all content aligns with our brand voice and maximizes engagement, reach, and sales.

Responsibilities:

• Edit videos to targeted length and specifications.
• Handle and organize raw and edited video files.
• Export videos and facilitate mobile and web distribution.
• Shoot video and produce content as necessary.
• Ensure compliance with standards and adjust formats and file sizes as needed.
• Review scripts and trim footage segments to create a cohesive sequence.
• Input music, dialogues, graphics, and effects to enhance the overall quality of the videos.
• Create rough and final cuts and ensure logical sequencing and smooth running.
• Implement corrections and feedback from the team to improve the quality of the content.
• Meet project targets and deadlines consistently.
• Continuously discover and implement new editing technologies and industry’s best practices to maximize efficiency.
• Create various forms of social media content—text captions, videos, and images—suitable for the various social media platforms.
• Publish posts according to the established social media content calendar.
• Research ways to ensure that every piece of content is relevant and helps maximize engagement and reach.
• Ensure every piece of content you create aligns with the brand voice.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Video Editor, with a strong portfolio showcasing your editing skills and creativity.
• Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, etc.
• Experience in creating social media content for platforms such as Twitter, TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube.
• Strong understanding of social media trends and best practices.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Creative thinking and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of copyright laws and regulations.
• Flexibility to work evenings.

Interview/Shortlisting Process:

• Application Form: Shortlisted candidates will be asked to fill in an application form.
• Video Editing Task: The candidate will complete a short editing assignment. A YouTube 3-5 minute instructional video and thumbnail will be edited to showcase their skills, creativity, and ability to meet deadlines.
• Social Media Task: The candidate will complete a separate task to demonstrate their ability to create two engaging reels for various platforms.
• Final Round Interview: Successful candidates will proceed to a final interview by phone or video call to review their task performance, assess suitability, and discuss freelance working arrangements.
• Decision: The top candidate will be offered a freelance contract as a Video Editor and Social Media Handler.
